1

Choose the Best Location

Make sure there is a clear line of sight between your Yagi antenna and the cell tower โ€” avoid mounting directly behind metal roofs, concrete water tanks, or dense trees. Obstruction-free placement is essential for 4G and 5G signals.

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: Point your antenna toward the nearest populated area, then use our Signal Analyzer Tool to test real-time signal strength (RSRP/SINR) and find the location with the strongest signal.

2

Fix the Antenna on a Pole

Mount the antenna on a GI or steel pole raised 20โ€“25 feet (6โ€“8 metres) high above roof level. Securely tighten the Swisstek aluminium bracket using the provided heavy-duty U-bolts to prevent wind rotation.

Clamp U-bolts tightly so the antenna beam remains fixed during heavy wind
Run low-loss RG6 cable straight down the pole using cable ties
Form a small drip loop in the cable right before it enters your wall to block rainwater

Connect Cable to Your 4G Router

  1. Run the black cable straight down the pole. Do not bend or twist the cable tightly.
  2. Pass the cable inside your house through a wall hole or near a window.
  3. Remove the antenna from the existing two antennas on your router and connect the wire from the Yagi antenna into that removed antenna socket.
  4. Screw the gold pin into the router port gently using your fingers only.

Tighten using your fingers ONLY. Using tools or spanners will break your router antenna port.

Align Antenna & Tune Signal

Alignment controls speed and latency โ€” follow these precise steps:

  1. Open your router dashboard in a web browser (usually 192.168.8.1 or 192.168.1.1)
  2. Set Antenna Mode to External in System Settings if required
  3. Rotate your Yagi antenna slowly in 10ยฐ increments toward the cell tower
  4. Wait 20 seconds at each position for RSRP/SINR signal metrics to refresh
  5. Aim for an RSRP value closer to -80 dBm and a positive SINR above 10 dB
  6. Lock the mounting bracket bolts firmly once maximum speed is verified

If Signal is Weak โ€” Troubleshoot

If speeds or signal bars remain lower than expected:

โ†’Test mounting the antenna on a different side or corner of your roof
โ†’Raise the mounting pole higher โ€” 2 to 3 feet of extra clearance removes surrounding roof noise
โ†’Inspect cable routing โ€” eliminate sharp 90-degree bends along walls
โ†’Check both SMA gold connectors on the back of your router to ensure tight fitting
โ†’Verify antenna directors point directly toward the tower rather than offset

๐Ÿ’ก Best Practices for Maximum 4G Speed

๐Ÿ“Higher pole = stronger signal. Raising 3 feet above your roofline significantly reduces signal noise.
๐Ÿ”„Never bend coaxial cables sharply โ€” sharp 90ยฐ kinks degrade 4G LTE signal performance.
๐Ÿ”—Secure outdoor cables with UV-resistant clips or zip ties along the pole and outer wall.
๐Ÿ‘๏ธEnsure clear line-of-sight toward your nearest Dialog, Mobitel, SLT, or Hutch tower.
๐ŸŒง๏ธKeep the dipole weather protection cap facing downward to prevent water accumulation.
โฑ๏ธWait 20 seconds between 10ยฐ turns for your router admin panel (192.168.8.1) to update metrics.

Align Antenna & Tune Signal

Alignment controls speed and latency โ€” follow these steps carefully:

  1. Open your router page on your mobile browser (type 192.168.8.1 or 192.168.1.1).
  2. Set Antenna Mode to External in System Settings if needed.
  3. Rotate your Yagi antenna slowly in small steps (10ยฐ at a time) toward the tower.
  4. Wait 20 seconds after each turn to let signal numbers update on your screen.
  5. Aim for an RSRP value closer to -80 dBm and SINR above 10 dB for highest speeds.
  6. Lock all mounting bracket bolts firmly once you get peak signal.

If speeds or signal bars stay low after alignment, try these quick checks:

โ†’Test mounting the antenna on a different side or corner of your roof
โ†’Raise the pole higher โ€” 2 to 3 feet extra height removes roof noise
โ†’Inspect cable routing โ€” remove sharp 90-degree bends along walls
